Trump Smacks Down Acosta As CNN Retreats From Acosta’s Russia Reporting
President Donald Trump dunked on CNN correspondent Jim Acosta in a press conference in India Tuesday morning, marking a bad professional week for Acosta as CNN retreats from his recent reporting on supposed Russian interference in the 2020 election.
“Let me tell you about your record. Your record is so bad you ought to be ashamed of yourself,” Trump said to the CNN agitator. “You probably have the worst record in the history of broadcasting.”
Trump’s exasperated rebuke of Acosta Tuesday is just one in a long line of Trump smackdowns for the CNN personality, who engages in hyper-partisan stunt journalism from his perch in the White House press pool.

Acosta’s own network is backing away from Acosta’s reporting.
CNN was forced to report Sunday that “US intelligence briefer appears to have overstated assessment of 2020 Russian interference.”
The CNN article, bylined by Jeremy Diamond, Jake Tapper, and Zachary Cohen, referred in its first line to CNN’s previous report, “Russia is looking to help Trump win in 2020, election security official told lawmakers.” That previous report was bylined by Jim Acosta, Zachary Cohen, Dana Bash and Jeremy Herb.
The Deep State is trying to create another Russian collusion narrative surrounding Trump in the 2020 election, and also tie socialist Democrat candidate Bernie Sanders to supposed Russian meddling efforts because the neoliberal Democrat establishment long presided over by Hillary Clinton’s regime does not want Sanders to win their party’s nomination.
Now, even CNN is forced to back away from the narrative amid widespread mockery of the Deep State effort from both Sanders supporters and also the pro-Trump mainstream Right.
CNN reports, “The US intelligence community has assessed that Russia is interfering in the 2020 election and has separately assessed that Russia views Trump as a leader they can work with. But the US does not have evidence that Russia’s interference this cycle is aimed at reelecting Trump, the officials said.
“The intelligence doesn’t say that,” one senior national security official told CNN. “A more reasonable interpretation of the intelligence is not that they have a preference, it’s a step short of that. It’s more that they understand the President is someone they can work with, he’s a dealmaker.”
CNN passage ends
The lack of Acosta’s byline on the second article suggests trouble for the pretend muckraker, whose antics have turned public opinion against the press pool in massive ways during the Trump administration.
Acosta previously had his White House press pass suspended when he made physical contact with a female White House intern during one of his stunts, when the intern was simply trying to take the microphone out of his hand so that Acosta could not continue agitating against the President in a sensitive national security setting at the White House.
Acosta sued and regained his press pass thanks to a legal team at the anti-Trump law firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, where Jerry Nadler’s son Michael Nadler has recently been employed as an associate.
Even among the anti-Trump Swampers who comprise the White House press pool, Acosta’s weak showmanship is unpopular, making him a hated figure among his colleagues.
“A few CNN reporters told me that they’re embarrassed by Acosta & CNN. A WH correspondent from a major network (not Fox) told me “This isn’t the Jim F*ing Acosta Show. We all hate him. He’s an asshole and he actually is disrespectful to the president,” said pro-Republican strategist Arthur Schwartz on Twitter in 2018.
In a time of global war and concerted left-wing agitation against the American Commander in Chief, it does not make sense for the President to have to deal with an agitator like Acosta who creates disturbances in the presence of Trump, especially when the President is on foreign soil. Acosta’s continued presence in the White House press pool is a disgrace, and a sad commentary on the power wielded by a select few globalist fake news organizations that no longer have credibility in the eyes of the public. The White House has wisely stopped regular press briefings under Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham so as not to give their enemies a visible platform to harass Trump’s people. The Trump White House should think about further reforms to undermine Acosta and keep his embarrassing, petty commotions away from our President.
