
White House, Capitol Hill Scramble to Avert Government Shutdown

President Trump and Democratic leaders clashed Tuesday over funding a U.S.-Mexico border wall as part of a larger government spending package that must be passed by Dec. 21st. The final legislative action of the Republican-controlled Congress would avert a partial government shutdown ahead of the holidays.
