Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was front and centre at a ‘No more Trump’ rally in Caracas on Saturday.

Government supporters turned out with flags, banners and signs bearing slogans critical of the US President Donald Trump.

During his speech, Maduro said the US government was “imperialist, criminal, xenophobic, racist” and persecuting Venezuela. He also called opposition leader Juan Guaido a “traitorous worm” for promoting and supporting sanctions.

The march comes only days after US President Donald Trump announced new sweeping sanctions on the Venezuelan government aimed at increasing pressure on Maduro to step down.
