Trump Endorses Spending Deal Ending Partial Government Shutdown

The longest government shutdown in U.S. history ended Friday when President Donald Trump delayed his demand for funding for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border, signing a three-week spending bill that will reopen shuttered agencies and get back pay to 800,000 federal workers. But as VOA's congressional correspondent Katherine Gypson reports, the short-term funding is meant to buy lawmakers time to address border security.Original Article
