Trump blasts New York Times as ‘creeps’ over report on signs of fatigue in office

November 26, 2025, 7:49 PM

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump sharply criticized The New York Times on Wednesday, calling its journalists “creeps” and dismissing as a “hit piece” a report that said he has shown signs of fatigue and a lighter public schedule as he ages in office.

The article, co-authored by White House correspondent Katie Rogers and headlined “Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Aging in Office,” noted that the 79-year-old president now typically appears in public between noon and 5 p.m. and holds fewer events than during his first term. It also reported that Trump appeared to doze off during a recent Oval Office event.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump touted his 2024 election victory, claimed he had “settled 8 wars,” and pointed to recent stock-market highs and a stronger global reputation for the United States.

“The Creeps at the Failing New York Times are at it again,” Trump wrote. “To do this requires a lot of Work and Energy, and I have never worked so hard in my life. Yet ... the Radical Left Lunatics ... did a hit piece on me that I am perhaps losing my Energy, despite facts that show the exact opposite.”

Trump, who frequently questioned President Joe Biden’s stamina during the 2024 campaign, also cited a recent physical exam and cognitive test he described as “perfect” and “aced.”

A Times spokesperson defended the reporting as “accurate and built on first-hand reporting of the facts,” adding that “name-calling and personal insults don’t change that” and that the newspaper would continue covering the administration.

Trump also personally attacked Rogers, calling her “ugly, both inside and out.”

Separately this week, Vice President JD Vance and other conservatives criticized a different Times article about a Minnesota man whose identity was stolen by an undocumented immigrant, accusing the paper of sympathizing with the immigrant. The Times said the story was intended to illustrate the complexities of immigration and identity theft.
