This Jobs Report is a Mixed Bag
Heritage Foundation Research Fellow E.J. Antoni tells Natalie Winters that the new jobs report surveys households. The results reveal there is essentially no job growth for the month. "If you want to look at what kinds of jobs people have, it looks like there were a decent number of people who actually got rid of part-time jobs and were able to find full-time jobs in place, so that is a very good sign, but in terms of who is actually getting the jobs, unfortunately, we still don't see Americans making much headway," Antoni said. "A lot of these jobs continue to go to foreign-born workers. We still see the native-born population, native-born Americans, having fewer jobs today than before the pandemic. Conversely, foreign born workers not only have more jobs than before the pandemic, but they've already caught up to their pre-pandemic growth trend."
