True Crime writer John Leake, speaking of President Trump's near assassination in Butler, Pennsylvania, quotes a book on how to surveil an area and do security for an event. "The first thing you would do is secure that rooftop 400 feet with a clear line of sight from the stage," Leake said. "It is a perfect place for a shooter to take a shot. It is the first place that you would secure. There is no exculpatory explanation for it. Just a simple security guard sitting on the roof would have sufficed."
