The Nebraska Strategy
Tyler Bowyer of Turning Point Action says the new electoral map since redistricting shows the Sun Belt southern states have gained Electoral College votes. "Some of the other states have lost [Electoral College votes], so what that's done is create a really obvious potential that if Biden wins the Rust Belt or the blue states, what's called the Blue Wall, and if Trump wins all of the Sun Belt, including Nevada, which is looking a lot more his way, it could come down to one Electoral College vote to win the presidency, and it is in deep red Nebraska," Bowyer said. In 1991 Nebraska implemented a system that enables Omaha to have one Electoral College vote. The Omaha area sometimes flips back and forth politically. If Nebraska's unicameral legislature will pass a law to switch back to winner take all then that makes it more difficult for the Democrats to win, Bowyer said.
