The Day Social Media Shut Down the #WalkAway Movement

#WalkAway Campaign founder Brandon Straka says his movement was banned on social media on Jan. 8, 2021, without explanation. #WalkAway is a movement for all people who testify why they left the Democratic Party. Many people called it inspirational and uplifting. "This isn't just a social media campaign. This is my organization," Straka said. "We have for years traveled around the country doing live events, producing videos. We do our fundraising. We sell tickets to our events. We lost our ability to access our people. This was a devastating thing for us."
