Qatar Emir Leaves White House Following Trump Meeting
U.S. President Donald Trump met with the emir of Qatar at the White House Tuesday, July 9.
Trump and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a working lunch and participated in the signing of a deal to purchase Boeing jets.
Trump said Qatar is investing heavily in the United States, buying military equipment and commercial planes.
The White House said the talks focused on security cooperation, counterterrorism issues and other developments in the region.
After departing the White House, the emir went to the State Department for meetings with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. (AP)
