
Pompeo Defends Trump’s Cuts to Aid Central America

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo defended President Donald Trump's move to halt U.S. aid to three Central American nations from which record numbers of migrants have fled to the U.S. southern border. Pompeo was responding to sharp criticism from Democrats at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing Wednesday, who said the cuts will likely create more misery and fuel more migration north.
