Police Officer Draws Gun Against Protesters in Hong Kong Airport
A riot police officer drew his gun to fend off attacking protesters at Hong Kong’s International Airport, Tuesday, August 13. As the stand-off between protesters and riot police turned violent at the airport, footage was captured of a riot police officer getting mobbed by protesters. The police officer was pressed against the glass and beaten but was ultimately able to draw his weapon on the crowd, forcing them to flee.

Bachelet is voicing concern about the escalating violence in Hong Kong and worries about it spiraling out of control. She is urging protesters to express their grievances peacefully and not to resort to violence or the destruction of property.
