Narendra Modi Step into Wilderness with Bear Grylls Creates Buzz in India
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appearance in British TV adventurer Bear Grylls’ famous show “Man vs. Wild” has stoked controversy in the country.
A trailer for the program shows Modi, 68, driving into the Jim Corbett National Park in Northern India guided by Grylls, with images of a tiger, a herd of elephants and deer running in the distance.
Bear Grylls had said that Modi is stepping into the wilderness to raise awareness about protecting nature.
A day earlier, Modi had released India’s tiger count which rose to 2,967 in 2018, up a third from 2014, new estimates released by Modi on Monday showed. (Reuters)
