Melting Glacier Causes Flooding in Swiss Resort

A melting glacier caused a deluge of water that swept through the Swiss resort town of Zermatt on one of the hottest days of the year.
Instagram user Gulnazi izimova posted a number of videos showing a torrent of gray water racing through a stream in the town, while locals and tourists watched from behind police tape. The stream reportedly burst its banks in some spots.
“When I first heard noise from the flood I was working in my apartment, and my kids were on a walk outside with my nanny. So the first thought as a mother of two kids that I had was, ‘Where are the kids right now’,” Izimova told Reuters, adding she rushed out and saw people were filming the sight. (Reuters)
