Melania Trump to Mark Anniversary of 'Be Best' Campaign
One year after launching her "Be Best" children's initiative, first lady Melania Trump will return to the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday to move the campaign forward.
The celebration will include three guest speakers, each representing one of the three pillars of her initiative: child well-being, social media use and drug abuse. The names of the speakers have yet to be released.
"Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to meet so many incredible people who are working hard every day to care for and provide a better world for our children," the first lady said in a statement. "Next week will not only be an opportunity to thank so many leaders and innovators for their contributions to making Be Best a success, but a chance to come together as a community and set plans for expanding the initiative in the coming year."
The first lady has visited hospitals and schools across the United States and around the world promoting the initiative and its goals in the past year.
"Talking to children, parents, teachers, medical professionals, government and foreign officials and the country about the importance of character education, online safety and the dangers of opioid abuse are all top of mind for Mrs. Trump in all that she does," Trump's spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told CNN.
