President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, moved a step closer to confirmation Friday when he won a party-line endorsement from the Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee. But uncertainty was introduced when a Republican senator insisted on a delay in the final Senate vote on Kavanaugh until the FBI can investigate an allegation of sexual assault brought by California professor Christine Blasey Ford.
