Jim Acosta Bails After CNN Won’t Let Him Peddle His Fiction in Cushy Timeslot
Jim Acosta, the self-proclaimed warrior of truth, gave us a tantrum on his way out of CNN. The man who made a career out of “truth-telling” (which, for Jim, mostly meant grandstanding, interrupting, and spinning narratives to fit his anti-Trump agenda) has quit because CNN doesn’t want to air his brand of “truth” anymore – at least not in a time slot that Acosta finds acceptable after giving them almost 18 years of his life.
That’s right. CNN – of all places – decided Acosta’s take on reality was a bit too much even for them and told him that if he wanted to stay with the company, he’d have to take his anti-truth show to graveyard shift of midnight to 2 am. But Acosta wasn’t agreeable to that.
Acosta ironically urged his audience to “hold onto the truth” as he announced his exit – an amusing suggestion, considering he’s never done so himself. CNN used to celebrate that fact, eagerly embracing the web of falsehoods Acosta and his colleagues spun on a daily basis.
In fact, the network spent years doing things like trying to convince America that inflation was good, Biden was competent, Trump was a Nazi and Black Lives Matter riots were “mostly peaceful.” But now, they are looking to claw back some credibility after years of hemorrhaging viewers.
No one’s holding their breath for major changes at the network – and frankly, it’d be shocking if they last another year. But maybe, just maybe, they’ve finally figured out that the world doesn’t need an hourly anti-Trump monologue. Speaking of Trump, Orange Man Bad wished Acosta well on his new endeavors, posting on his Truth Social site: “Jim is a major loser who will fail no matter where he ends up. Good luck Jim!”
It’s possible that CNN has no intention of changing their anti-Trump messaging though. Maybe they are just hunting for fresh faces to push the same worn-out narrative. After all, there’s no shortage of unemployed leftists in need of a gig: Karine Jean-Pierre, Kamala Harris, Jennifer Granholm, Antony Blinken, Lloyd Austin, Merrick Garland and Alejandro Mayorkas – just to name a few.
