Japan Princess Mako Honors Migrants to Peru

Japanese Princess Mako, niece of Emperor Naruhito, attended an event in Lima, Wednesday, July 10, marking 120 years since the first Japanese citizens migrated to Peru.
As part of her visit, the princess visited a school where Japanese is taught and planted a tree outside the building.
In addition, Princess Mako spoke at a commemoration ceremony held at Lima’s Japanese Peruvian Cultural Center. (AP)
