Florida Boy Arrested for Posting Mass Shooting Threat Online

A 15-year-old Florida boy is facing felony charging after posting a message while playing a video game saying he would bring his father’s automatic rifle to a high school in Daytona Beach and kill at least seven people. Volusia County Sheriff officials interviewed the boy and his mother at their home, Friday, August 16.

The boy told investigators he was joking when he posted the message and the sheriff’s office asserted that making those comments are a felony, joke or otherwise. The boy was taken to juvenile detention and will be charged with either a second or third degree felony, depending on the circumstances.
