El Paso Residents Flock to Blood Donation Centers to Support Shooting Victims
Following the shooting in El Paso that took the lives of at least 20 people, Saturday, August 3, residents flocked to donate blood for the victims over the weekend. Volunteers stood for hours in scorching hot temperatures outside the United Blood Services donation center. The company that runs the center said they collected 375 units on Saturday and expects to exceed that amount on Sunday. They have shipped 370 to 400 units to local hospitals within 24 hours of the shooting.
