DESPERATE DEMOCRATS DITCH DEMOCRACY
After President Donald Trump’s courageous response to the assassination attempt captivated the nation and the Republicans held a successful and unified national convention, Democrats are frantic. They are worried they may suffer a landslide loss to President Trump and lose control of the House and Senate.
Usually, Democrats display unity, while Republicans are fractured. Today, the roles are reversed, as Democrats are in total disarray. For weeks, many of the party’s leaders and supporters in the media called on President Joe Biden to withdraw as their nominee. Others, such as Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), expressed steadfast support for Biden and criticized fellow Democrats for coercing him to exit the race.
Eventually, the unrelenting pressure from Democratic Party leaders became too powerful to ignore. Biden finally acceded to their demands and posted the announcement that many viewed as inevitable. He wrote, “While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down.”
The problem for Democrats is that Biden won 14 million votes and 3,861 delegates in the nomination contests, easily securing the delegates necessary to win. There are only 36 uncommitted delegates, and the other candidate remaining in the race, Marianne Williamson, won zero delegates.
Biden was the overwhelming choice of Democrats; however, party leaders decided to negate the choice of their primary voters and will give their nomination to another candidate.
While Biden officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him, and she remains the favorite, other Democrats will surely seek the nomination. It will be an unprecedented and condensed process as their convention starts on August 19.
The process may involve a “mini primary” with town hall meetings, televised forums, and other public events in advance of the convention. Otherwise, Democrats may have a brokered process controlled by party leaders or throw open their convention and allow the delegates to decide the nominee.
This extraordinary situation was created because Democratic Party leaders were worried about losing the upcoming election to President Trump. In the latest Real Clear Politics average of polls, Trump leads Biden by 3 percent.
Trump is also leading in every battleground state. For example, in the latest poll in Michigan, Trump leads Biden 49-42 percent, Trump has more than doubled his lead since the last poll, and the pollster noted that Trump is in the most dominant position for a Republican presidential candidate since the 1988 election, in which then Vice President George H.W. Bush defeated Michael Dukakis.
To make matters worse, Trump has expanded the political playing field to states, such as New Hampshire, Minnesota, New Mexico, and Virginia, that historically voted Democratic.
Not only is Trump doing well in the polls, but he is also significantly outperforming Biden in the critical area of fundraising. After Biden’s disastrous debate performance against President Trump, his fundraising totals and poll numbers plummeted.
The debate showcased Biden’s significant mental decline. Millions of Americans finally realized the severity of Biden’s condition, which had been hidden from the public by Democratic Party insiders, Biden officials, and the liberal media.
This condition was covered by many honest conservatives in the alternative media, who had been highlighting Biden’s mental incompetence for several years. However, they were labeled “conspiracy theorists” and accused of spreading falsehoods about Biden.
After the debate debacle, Biden supporters were exposed and unable to peddle their lies. His condition became too obvious to hide, so they blamed his horrific performance on “jet lag,” a “cold,” or a “lack of sleep.”
The problem is that the debate showed the real Biden that has been on display for years. He is a gaffe machine, unable to articulate, remember names, or complete sentences.
In the weeks after the debate, Biden made numerous blunders in speeches and interviews, only intensifying the concerns of Democrats, who were previously more than willing to lie about his deteriorating condition.
In the face of Republican strength and Biden’s decline, the frantic scramble began to force Biden to withdraw. It included members of Congress, liberals in the media, and even former President Barack Obama in the background.
All the pressure eventually succeeded in forcing Biden to vacate the nomination. It was not easy for Biden, is stubborn and egotistical. He is also under the delusion that he is the best candidate to defeat President Trump.
Now, Democrats may be stuck with Vice President Harris, who is quite unpopular, as their nominee.
Such shenanigans are typical of Democrats. In 2016, party bigwigs conspired to steal the nomination from Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and give it to Hillary Clinton. Sanders was also on the losing end in the 2020 election, when party bosses deemed he was too radical, and Biden was chosen as the “moderate” nominee.
Biden also benefited in the matchup against President Trump when so-called national security experts lied to the American people about his son’s laptop and said it had the hallmarks of “Russian disinformation.”
What comes around, goes around, and now Biden is on the losing end of this power struggle. Yet, this shady move may be challenged by Republicans. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said the removal of Biden is “unlawful in accordance with some of these state rules for a handful of people to go in the backroom and switch it out because they don’t like the candidate any longer.”
Along with the question of legality, there is another question. If Biden is too ill to serve as the Democratic Party nominee, how can he remain as President until January 2025? In his withdrawal statement, Biden said he would “focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
In an interview after Biden’s announcement, President Trump stated, Biden “is not fit to serve.” He asked, “Who is going to be running the country for the next five months?”
Good question, Mr. President, for it will not be Joe Biden.
