California is just about the worse state in the country to live in if you actually believe in freedom and the Constitution. They will ban anything that moves. And anything that doesn’t move. Leaf blowers, lawn mowers, gas-powered cars, plastic straws, plastic bags, gun magazines, and more.
They do this because they are tyrannical dictators, pretending that they “care” about people. Really, what they are interested in is controlling people and being all-powerful. They also want to set insane precedents so that other states around the country will join in on their absurdity and tyranny over those they are supposed to protect.
More recently, California has decided to ban products that have certain ingredients in them that they don’t like. This will have an effect on things like cosmetics, soda cookies and candies. Citing health hazards like cancer, birth defects and other problems that they say from these ingredients and chemicals, California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom has signed bans into law which will take effect on January 1, 2027.
It is estimated that about 12,000 products are sold in the “Golden State” that have the offensive chemicals in them including Peeps, Hot Tamales Candy, Strawberry Yoo- hoos, Brach’s candy corn and more.
If companies don’t comply with the rules of California, they will face fines up up to $10,000. But what does that mean? I read the bill and it says, “Upon an action brought by the Attorney General, a city attorney, a county counsel, or a district attorney, a person or entity that violates subdivision (a) shall be liable for a civil penalty not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) for a first violation, and not to exceed ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for each subsequent violation.”
The fines are for anyone who manufactures, sells, delivers, distributes, holds, or offers for sale any product that contains one of their banned ingredients.
Yes, THAT MEANS YOU too! Do you have a bag of Skittles in your car that you are delivering to your hubby? You had better have $5,000 on hand to pay the California government. And then $10,000 each time you do it after that.
That’s a whole lotta money that California can get in fines for a truck full of soda – or for all of the banned items that 7-11 or Walmart will be selling.
