Chilean Zoo Removes Critically Endangered Frogs From Wild to Save Species
Chilean authorities have decided to remove the last known remaining specimens of a critically endangered frog from the wild in an attempt to save the species from extinction. The Loa frog is found in riverways in Northern Chile and is now relegated to one place, Calama. Authorities have rounded up the last Loa frogs they could find, of which there are 14, and transported them to the zoo in Chile’s capital, Santiago.
