Animal Welfare Organization Arrives in Sudan to Assist Starving Lions
Four Paws, a global animal welfare organization, arrived in Khartoum, Sudan, Monday, January 27, to check on the welfare of three starving lions at a neglected zoo. The organization said the big cats were on the brink of starvation. Juno van Zon, a big cat expert for Four Paws, said the aim was to investigate the plight of the lions and establish what can be done to assist them using local vets. (AP)
